The new-looking square of tarmac below the postbox suggests correctly that it is a recent addition to the southern side of Straits, the main road south out of Easton. It replaces a large wall box outside the post office, which closed in December 2011. The post office reopened within a newsagent in May 2012 and, some time in 2013, the postbox has been positioned here, a few doors along.
