Vapour Trails Above Frederick Place
Despite appearances I was not the only one interested in the Red Arrows that day. Thousands and thousands watched from the beach, ahead and right from this viewpoint.

Converted to current use and once a Wychwood Brewery Hobgoblin, then a Baracuda bar. Clipper since 2010 but now closed as the owning pubco Bramwell Pubs and Bars Limited, including Smith and Jones pubs, of which the Clipper was part, went into administration in October 2013.

Some unexpected guests
St Mary Street is now a bustling shopping street, but there are a few older gems to add intrigue to the colour. These premises, non-religious as it happens, are in contrast to the neighbouring ones and have gargoyles - see Image

Creatures from the past
Along St Mary Street are some unexpected gargoyles adorning this (modern) shop and not a church. The drainpipe is dated 1924 - see Image] for a wider view.
