The Esplanade, Weymouth
Despite appearances, these terraces aren't sinking in the middle. The view is a parallax effect caused by a low viewpoint on the beach and the different angles of the two terraces.

Genuine relics hidden in plain sight
These small stones set into the pavement along Brunswick Terrace are an understated piece of Weymouth's history. A plaque nearby relates that they are the last remaining ones that used to stretch the entire length of the promenade, with chains to mark the old seafront, dated 1820s. Today the promenade is rather different and has extended towards the sea; the old stones are merely a barrier to the vehicles parking here.
