Weymouth College
A modern educational facility offering many academic and practical courses, it opened in 1985 after a merger with the technical college. Before that, the site used to be a cricket ground for almost the entire twentieth century.

The Big Fish, Weymouth College
A giant fish sculpture in the college grounds, created in 2007 by students working with local schoolhildren. "Over 1000 scales ... are individually hand-tied to the giant fish structure which is 5 metres long and 2 metres wide. Over 125 kg of clay was used to make the scales before they were each individually hand painted by the students. The scales also consist of 350 recycled drinks cans donated from Asda." Comments from schoolchildren included "it looked much nicer than I thought it would" and "I’m also enjoying the lunch here". From underground vaults to cathedral vaults
The Weymouth area is part of the famous Jurassic Coast - comprising many geological materials, some of which are to be found in many important and historic buildings. This mural is on the wall of part of Weymouth College campus and shows a graphic and geologic timeline.
