Old Milestone by the A354, Lorton
The remains of a stone post (plate lost) by the A354, in Borough of Weymouth (Weymouth and Portland District), by Lorton Farm, buried in base of wall, on West side of road. Erected by the Weymouth, Melcombe Regis & Dorchester Turnpike Trust in the 19th century.
Inscription once read:-

Broadwey: postbox № DT3 103, Dorchester Road
This George VI-reign postbox stands by the corner of Broadlands Road, with Nottington Lane diagonally opposite in the background. It is emptied finally at 5pm on weekdays and at noon on Saturdays. A traditional red phone box stands in the distance.
