Lane north of Cattistock
On my way in to Cattistock the previous evening, I forgot to get a picture of this square as we passed through. Too keen to get to my bed and breakfast. So I had to nip back the following morning. It was a Bank Holiday so it was raining, after weeks of fine weather.

Cattistock: the post office
The village stores and post office, set into whose wall is an Elizabeth II-postbox of the design more often seen mounted on a metal post or attached to a telegraph pole. The box receives its final collection at 4:30pm on weekdays and at 10:30am on Saturdays.

Church and The Square, Cattistock
The church is one of the finest 19th century churches in Dorset. The north and south transepts are 15th century, but much of the body of the church was rebuilt in 1857 by Sir Gilbert Scott. The north aisle and tower were added in 1874 and designed by his son George Gilbert Scott. Externally the tower is stunning, huge and visible for miles around.
