Poundbury 1
A unique place with great photo opportunities (if you like architecture). At the moment the emptiness and all-pervading neatness is slightly unnerving but I guess as The People take over from The Planners it'll start to look a bit more lived in.

Poundbury Royal Pavilion under construction
Part of the Poundbury North East Quadrant development "Royal Pavilion" under construction. 20 Luxury apartments, a spa and shop. The rather pretentious looking arch is part of the base of the tower of the Pavilion, which will be the highest building in Poundbury, and as it's on the hill, will in my opinion inappropriately overshadow the old county town.See Imagefor earlier view.

Little Waitrose
On Queen Mother Square in the HRH inspired extension of Dorchester, known as Poundbury, or by some as Charlestown, is a most unlikely supermarket. It is as if the designers were ashamed that people have to do their shopping somewhere. The building resembles one of Ceausecu's monstrosities. The town itself is slightly creepy, a bit like a film set with no-one around.
