DMS is one of two middle schools in Dorchester whose pupils move on to Thomas Hardy School and which is only a few hundred yards up Queens Avenue from this school.

Thomas Hardye School Gates
These are the present school gates at the western end of Queens Avenue. They wewre originally located at the old site for the school which was on the other side of the town. The school at that site was demolished and houses built on the site. This is the third site of the school.

Maud Road Butchers, Dorchester
Maud Road on the Victoria Park estate has a small range of shops including a baker, post office, two general stores, a chemist and this butcher which is on the west side of Maud Road near the junction with Edward Road.
