Art Deco, Plaza Cinema, Trinity Street, Dorchester
Built in the then modern art deco style, the Plaza opened 10th July 1933 with King Kong as the main film. It cost £20,000 to build and had 986 seats. Today it is twinned. See http://merciacinema.org/gallery0806.htm

West Walks tennis court and Hascombe Court
Looking across West Walks tennis courts over the west end of Trinity Street car park to the prominent Hascombe Court. Hascombe Court is part of Somerleigh Court Retirement Village close to the centre of Dorchester. The whole development consists of 68 one and two-bedroom apartments together with a 40 bed nursing home.

West Walks Dorchester
The avenue of west walks runs alongside Borough Gardens. These "Walks" encircle the town and were built between 1700 and 1712 on the site of the old town walls when these were demolished.

Dorchester - Borough Gardens Clock
Standing close to the bandstand this elaborate cast-iron clocktower painted in red, green and gold, was presented to the town by Charles Hansford in 1905.
