Sign for the Fiddleford Inn
This name conjures up all kinds of visions to do with fiddlers of one kind or another, but the Fiddle in place name refers to an ancient personal name "Fitela". Sign for Image

The Fiddleford Inn, Fiddleford
The Fiddleford Inn was the home of the Fiddleford maltster. The maltster added malt to barley to brew beer and so the Fiddleford Inn hosted a brewery in the 18th & 19th Century. The building dates from around 1740 and in its time it has also been a malt house and an old coaching stop.
