Wroot: the post office and stores
This small shop is a rare survival – although, alas, the post office is due for closure in early 2008, to be replaced by a mobile service visiting this and other villages a couple of times a week. One wonders whether the shop will survive once the post office counter disappears.

High Street in Wroot
This is roughly the centre of what is a rather elongated village in terms of layout. The single storey building on the left is the former post office and the Cross Keys on the right is the village's only pub. I was heartened to see it open and knocked back a couple of Theakstons in very pleasant surroundings.
