Doncaster York Road railway station (site)
Although built to carry passengers, this short branch line apparently never did. Opened in 1916 jointly by the Hull & Barnsley Railway and the Great Central Railway, this ended up as a goods yard until the late 1960s when it closed. View south east from the side of (the new) York Road. The tracks crossed the car park, roughly left to right. The buffers would have been on what is now St Mary's roundabout, just out of view to the right.

Railway bridge over St Mary's roundabout, Doncaster
The substantial truss girder bridge, known as Willow Bridge, is designed for heavy freight traffic. It carries the Doncaster Avoiding Line, built by the Great Central Railway in 1908-10 in preparation for the opening of Immingham Dock in 1912, and its purpose was to take slower freight trains to/from Humberside over the LNER's East Coast main line rather than go through Doncaster station. It still fulfils that purpose (though traffic is lighter since the demise of the coal industry), and has never been used for regular passenger services. Source: https://en-academic.com/dic.nsf/enwiki/11656853 . The roundabout is later (c.1960) but was probably designed to fit under the existing railway bridges.
