I am Inspector Adrian Luscombe, and I cover the South Neighbourhood areas of Doncaster; which includes Mexborough, Edlington and Warmsworth, Conisbrough and Denaby, Tickhill and Wadsworth, Rossington and Bawtry, and Finningley ward areas. I have over 20 years' policing experience, with a significant portion of my career working within neighbourhood policing teams in Rotherham and Doncaster.
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of officers who are dedicated to serving your community. The teams I oversee consists of 3 sergeants, 14 police officers (PCs) and 7 police community support officers (PCSOs) who each have geographical responsibility for an area within the wards mentioned above. These officers are split into 3 teams, each headed by a sergeant, which include teams for Mexborough; Conisbrough and Denaby; and then Edlington/Warmsworth, Tickhill/Wadsworth, Rossington/Bawtry and Finningley. We work closely with the Local Authority along with a wide range of other partners and members of the community to attempt to find long-term solutions to local problems.
We conduct regular face-to-face meetings and engagement activities out in communities and this page is updated with the times and dates of planned meetings so please do get involved when you can. Please follow us on social media to stay informed about what we are doing and for details of engagement events running in your communities to come and speak with us.

Priorities
| 5 Dec 2025 | MEXBOROUGH: The feedback we have had for some time indicates that organised crime (particularly those involved in drug supply), vehicle related nuisance and general anti-social behaviour are amongst the key concerns of resident. Another issue being regularly raised for the area is vehicle speeding, something that is higlighted as an issue on many streets across Mexborough. We were seeing on and off spikes of Shoplifting offences in Mexborough, but having worked with local business and partners, whilst focussing on key suspects to address this, we have seen a sustained improvement over recent months. |
| 5 Dec 2025 | CONISBROUGH AND DENABY: The primary concerns being reported to us at this time are ASB linked to nuisance motorbikes, particularly around the centre of town, and youth ASB, which is also particularly focused in the centre of the village. We also continue to have concerns raised around organised criminality linked to drug supply. Also more recently we have seen raised levels of shoplifting offences |
| 5 Dec 2025 | EDLINGTON AND WARMSWORTH: The primary concerns currently being reported to us continue to be around organised criminality related to drug supply. There are also some reported issues of youth ASB. Earlier in the year, vehicle offences and shopliftings were amongst the most prevalent of issues, but following work targeted at key individuals and locations, reporting volumes for these offences has dropped off significantly. |
| 5 Dec 2025 | TICKHILL AND WADWORTH, ROSSINGTON AND BAWTRY, FINNINGLEY: The primary concerns currently being raised with us in these areas remain around Anti-Social Behaviour in the form of nuisance vehicles - including off road bikes, quads, speeding vehicles and parking complaints. The supply of drugs is also an issue the team is focussed on, and although less prevalent than in some areas the South NPT covers, it is an issue that extends into some of these communities too, particularly Rossington. We have also recently seen an increase in YUouth-related ASB, particularly in Rossington, and are working with partners to address this. |

| 1 Jun 2026 | MEXBOROUGH: The feedback we have had for some time indicates that organised crime (particularly those involved in drug supply), vehicle related nuisance and general anti-social behaviour are amongst the key concerns of resident. At the moment, following a drop off over winter, the most significant issue in terms of volumes of reporting remains the anti-social use of off road motorbikes across the area, and tackling this remains a top priority for the team. Another issue being regularly raised for the area is vehicle speeding, something that is higlighted as an issue on many streets across Mexborough. |

| 1 Jun 2026 | EDLINGTON AND WARMSWORTH: The primary concerns currently being reported to us continues to be around organised criminality related to drug supply. There are also some reported issues of youth ASB. However, reporting of these issues remains lower than it has historically been on the back of some effective enforcement action. Shoplifting has been on and off a significant issue in Edlington in the last 2 years. We have had numerous successes with arrests of prolific offenders, but it is an issue that persists in the area. |
