Course of the former Dearne Valley Railway
A relatively short-lived line built to connect collieries around Barnsley and Doncaster to (principally) the Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway near Doncaster. Opened in 1908 it closed in 1966. Passenger trains ran from 1912 to 1951.
