There isn't much to Eskham, just a few houses on a double bend just outside Marshchapel. I had lived in the area for 26 years before I learned that this hamlet had a name!

Eskham, Keyholme Lane and Land Dike Drain: aerial 2016

The A1031 coast road, horizontal on the shot, follows the line of an old sea bank along this stretch (Sea Dyke Way), hence Land Dike Drain. Keyholme Lane leads (down the shot) across the former marshes to the present sea wall. The light patches in the foreground are probably related to salt production, a thriving industry here until the 1600's. See Image
Above the main road Land Drain and Low Gate run either side of the thin wedge of land divided by a series of (horizontal) drainage ditches.
