Shops on Heanage road
Birketts the pork butcher, on the corner of Granville Street has been there for over 60 years. I used to queue up for sausages on a Friday morning for them as that was the only day they made them. This was in the early 1950s when a pound of sausages cost 2/6d (12.5p).
