Grimsby Docks Station
This photo was taken at the 3 Car stopping point looking South. As can be seen the unused part of the platform has room to accommodate much longer trains. I surmise that it may possibly have been constructed to take military traffic bringing troops to the port for embarkation.

T.G.W.U Memorial, Transport & General Workers Union office, Cleethorpes Road, Grimsby
This impressive Roll of Honour is situated inside the Committee Room of the Transport & General Workers Union office, Cleethorpes Road, Grimsby. The building is sited almost underneath the flyover, and adjacent to the Grimsby Telegraph office. The large wooden memorial complete with black incised lettering along the wall of the room, measures 2750mm by 1140mm.
The memorial commemorates the members of the Engineers Union, who sailed out of Grimsby, during World War 2 and gave their lives, and also lists the names of those Union members who received honours whilst serving for their King and Country.
The offices of the union who represented the men on the memorial was originally situated in Park Street, Grimsby, but, in 1975, when the offices moved to its present site in Cleethorpes Road, this union merged with the TGWU, and part of terms of the amalgamation was that the memorial would be cared for by the TGWU.
