64-66 Victoria Street, Grimsby
Two grand, stone-fronted institutional buildings. The nearer is the Post Office of 1910 by John Rutherford (thanks to Julian Osley for this information) of the Office of Works, with a rusticated ground floor and giant pilasters. Grade II listed. The further building was built for the Union of London and Smiths Bank Limited, now Natwest, in 1905 by W. Campbell Jones. The centre is recessed with a steep open pediment. Grade II listed.

Woolworths, Victoria Street West, Grimsby
Photo taken on first day of the December 2008 closing-down sale. The leaning lamp standard is one of several recently installed in the town centre. I'm not a fan of unpainted galvanised street furniture and these look like second hand remnants from the Festival of Britain (1951).

Built for the Prudential Assurance Company (see the lettering at the top of the columns) in 1913 to the designs of Paul Waterhouse. It has the normal grand stone-faced front so beloved of financial institutions. Grade II listed.
