Offices on Oswald Road
These two late Victorian semi-detached houses on Oswald Road, Fern Villa and Holly House were constructed as the residences of managers of the North Lincolnshire Iron Company. They are now offices.

Another Scunthorpe pub casualty of changing drinking habits. The 'Parky Arms' on West Street had been a popular watering hole for generations and sported a mailcoach on the flat roof to the rear in the 1970s

Love/Studio 25, Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe
A former cinema opened as the 'Ritz' by Coun. David Quibell on 27 February 1937, later renamed the ABC, before closing in 1974 to become Tiffany's nightclub. It then went on to become Henry Afrikas, Time and now Love2Love/Studio 25.

The Blue Bell Inn, Oswald Road. I am not sure if this is one of their pubs that is reusing an old building or a new owner for an existing pub. If anyone knows, I would be glad of a correction.

Road barrier and demolition site
Much of the north side of Doncaster Road at the town end has been demolished leaving sites sowem of which have been vacant for many year. From time to time new plans are announced but nothing ever happens.
The barrier is part of a scheme that sees Scunthorpe town centre closed in the evenings and early hours at weekends as a matter of public safety. Drunks and cars don't mix.
