St Michael's, Eastrington
An interesting village church, which from the south side appears to be of the 14th century, but inside has examples of many periods from Norman times to the chancel rebuild [after collapse] in 1632.

St Michael's Church, Eastrington
Eastrington was recorded as a chapel of Howden in 1146, although it is thought much of the surviving church was built in the 14th century. Some detailed information on the history of St. Michael's can be found here: http://www.btinternet.com/~susanebutler/East_church.html

Hard times?
The Black Swan in the centre of Eastrington has lost its signboard and has a 'business for sale' sign on the wall. Maybe the last pint has been pulled, in which case this is a typical example of the way the pub trade is going during difficult economic times.
