Parish Room at Balne
Formerly a school but now a small reading and meeting room which serves a small scattered community. A couple of chaps were working on the gravelled area when I passed by and we had a nice chat.

Balne Parish Rooms
Small enough, but even so larger than those of the neighbouring village, Pollington http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2750411.
The plaque on the gable commemorates the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

Four Horseshoes Inn
No longer functioning as such - the community is really too small and straggling to support a local pub. Note that the crossroads has give-way markings on all four roads.

Most of the farms at Balne seem to be of pretty much the same age. Presumably they date from the time the parish was enclosed.
