The Two Broomsticks Emporium, Albert Street, Crook
A collectables and game play shop in Crook's take on Diagon Alley which specialises in Harry Potter and Disney memorabilia. Sadly not open on the day of my visit.
Quoting their website:
"Having run a successful collectables shop 'Moving Pictures' in Devon since 2010 we have relocated and set about the task of rebuilding/decorating what was the Coach & Horses/Brewery Tap pub in Crook, County Durham. We had hoped to have work completed by September 2017 and have an official magical open day unfortunately one of the owners had a mild stroke followed by an operation and is still recovering, having to take things easier than before. It made us rethink the amount of time we had with family & for ourselves so the plans for the Two Broomsticks changed slightly the shop is only open 3 days a week, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10.30am til 6.30pm we are open for you to come sit in themed surroundings, browse items available to buy, and grab a drink (please note we do not serve proper meals/hot food)"

Gladstone Street is on the right. In the centre, a disused church sits next to the modern Durham Council building. The Market Place Methodist (formerly New Connexion) Church was founded in 1862, although bears a stone dated 1869. It closed before 1980.
