Redgate Head is the location on the B6296 where the road reaches its high point having climbed from Wolsingham. It's hidden from view by the distant trees beyond the dead bracken.

Route of footpath above Heartwell Plantation
The route is clearly heavily used by farm traffic and is churned to mud but at least on the day of the recording of the image, the ground was pretty well frozen.
