Bridge over Bleagill Sike, Upper Teesdale
This little bridge takes the lonely Newbiggin to Westgate road over the Bleagill Sike. In summer time it is a perfect picnic spot (when the weather is fine!). Behind is the moorland of Weather Beds.

The road to Weardale
This minor road climbs out of Newbiggin and over the moor top at Swinhope Head before descending into Weardale. Here it is just leaving the cultivated land at around the 400m contour before crossing miles of open moor.

Pair of footbridges at the confluence of Bleagill Sike and Flushiemere Beck
At first sight it looks very wasteful to take the public footpath over two footbridges instead of a single one just a few yards downstream, but the sheep use these bridges, too, so having a pair ensures that the triangle of grass between them also gets grazed. On the far side, the path zig-zags up the slope, then goes a long way downstream to a stile for those wanting to reach Broadley's Gate (the farm on the horizon), as well as leading back across yet another footbridge back to the eastern bank.
