Dalton village hall ski park
Well, it's the car park for Dalton and Gayles Village Hall, but an introductory nordic ski meet involved sorting more than a dozen people out with kit from the Swaledale Outdoor Club ski store, which involved a great deal of faff, so no cars could get in.

Dalton, High Bridge
High Bridge and Dalton Beck are located to the south of the village. This parapet stone is on the eastern side of the road, and has a clear benchmark cut into the top of the stone.

Dalton and Gayles Village Hall
A popular venue for mountaineering slide lectures, the village hall in Dalton also has the advantage of more parking than anywhere else in Dalton, so formed a convenient meeting place for the Ski Section of Swaledale Outdoor Club. The section has been almost moribund over the last several years, but the return to real winter weather has brought a sudden increase in interest, so this was an introductory meet for mostly new nordic skiers. Not quite enough boots and skis to go round meant a lot of faff...
