Scrubland behind new estate
This estate has been built on a brownfield site beside Shieldrow Lane in New Kyo. The land was previously occupied by terraced housing which was demolished nearly 40 years ago. I think the trees have self seeded for the most part, although some were planted.

Seat beside the path
This public path runs across the section of land between Shieldrow Lane in New Kyo and the Annfield Plain bypass. It used to be a field path years ago, before the road was built.

This is the point where the footpath from Shieldrow Lane in New Kyo crosses the road. You need to step smartly to cross between the fast traffic.

Footpath across a busy road
If you are walking down this public path from New Kyo, you have to be careful here crossing the Annfield Plain bypass. Lots of fast traffic. The path was here long before the road of course.

Iron railings
Around a used vehicle dealers in New Kyo, south of Shieldrow Lane. Looks fairly new. There's a nice collection of wild flowers, including Teasel. Suppose they would be weeds to most people.

Building site at New Kyo
A small terrace of houses being constructed on Shield Row Lane, the main road through the village. This is on the site of the former Sandhole Working Men's Club, which was recently demolished. Many local clubs have closed in recent years, along with village pubs.
