Good Companions
Kunekune Pig with friends at Tod Hill Farm, Moorside. The Kunekune is a breed of small pig from New Zealand. They have a docile, friendly nature, and are often kept as pets. Just don't mention pork rashers!

At Moorside, on the western edge of Consett. This farm has a long ancestry, the name Todd comes from an old English name for a fox.

Ruined byer at Todd Hill
Tod Hill Farm is recorded as belonging to Thomas Raw, one of the last of the moss troopers, in 1712. Perhaps this old byer goes back to those times. The original longhouse farmhouse was replaced by the house shown here in the background, probably sometime in the second half of the 19th century.
