Hedleyhope Fell Nature Reserve
This nature reserve is described by Durham Wildlife Trust as a "mid altitude heathland". The trust manages the heath otherwise it would gradually change to woodland.

Hay Bales or Giant Snooker Balls?
Spotted from Hedleyhope Nature Reserve. In the evening sun the plastic wrapped hay bales have more than a passing resemblance to giant snooker balls. There are no pubs nearby ;-)
