Wingate Lane entering Wheatley Hill
The road entering at the south-western corner of the village. Many towns and villages in County Durham are named on road signs in the distinctive blue and yellow style seen in the image. Most such signs are separate features but some, as here, are incorporated into a larger one alerting drivers to a speed limit.
