'Waste ground' at Birtley
Perhaps it's unkind to call the ground waste - rough grazing might be more generous, but there's probably no grazing that goes on here, just north of the Barley Mow area of Birtley, part of Gateshead. The ground is open to the passing A167 hence the boulders to prevent vehicles, for example those of travelling families, from accessing the land.
