Looking east along the path just south of Lamesley. This path along the old railway runs from Marley Hill near Sunniside to Springwell and the Railway Museum there. It was an colliery line formerly.

Three Bridges
I am walking along a disused railway track, that I believe is called the Bowes Incline - it seems to climb forever. At this point I have crossed the River Team and am about to go under 3 railway bridges that carry 2 lots of sidings and the main Eastern Line to London. The disused track is now part of a walk called the Great North Forest Trail.

View from beside the Bowes Railway Path just south of Lamesley. Although it's a bit of a murky day, The Angel Of The North sculpture can be seen on the horizon.
