Minor road entering Brasside
Brasside is a small village on the outskirts of Durham city; it has the doubtful privilege of being the location of both a remand centre and a prison. The blue and yellow road sign naming the village is in a style common in County Durham.

Direction Sign ? Signpost on Finchale Road, Brasside
Located on the northwest side a T junction on Finchale Road, Brasside, opposite HMP Frankland in Framwellgate Moor parish. A single fingerpost arm broken off and screwed to a telegraph pole. It indicates the road to Finchale Priory. Milestone Society National ID: DU_NZ2845

It looks like a roundabout but general traffic bypasses it; only buses turning there actually go around it. The north-side prison wall can be seen.

Overflow parking for HM Prison Frankland?
The inmate capacity of the nearby prison has been expanded several times https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/23409848.hmp-frankland-nine-notorious-prisoners-britain/ and the car parks were full when we passed.
