The Old Fulling Mill, Durham
Fulling is a process for cleaning cloth and there has been a mill on this site by the River Wear since at least the 15th century; however the present building mainly dates from the 19th century. It now houses an archaeological museum.

Was on the line of the Roman branch-road to the north-east from Willington, now in Old Fulling Mill, formerly the University of Durham Museum Of Archaeology. The Old Fulling Mill, Durham
Dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and probably incorporating earlier fragments (there was a mill on the River Wear in this position during the Middle Ages), this was originally a water mill and house.
