One Swallow Doesn't Make a Summer
Late summer swallows on the lines at Newark Farm, Sanquhar during a break in the weather. More than two dry days are awaited so the crops can be harvested without damaging the soil.

Newark Farm, Sanquhar
Nithsdale farm, dating from before 1800, with commendable green credentials as it strives to protect local biodiversity. It has pastureland, beef and sheep grazing, but also has a human crop. Here is also a crossroads for Southern Uplands Way walkers and many different transport modes on the John O'Groats to Land's End route. The B&B breakfasts are superb.
