Devil's Porridge Museum, Eastriggs
The museum opened on this site in 2014. It gives an insight into the huge explosives factory constructed from Eastriggs to Gretna and Longtown during the First World War. More recent displays look at the impact of the Second World War on the area, and bring the story right up to date with information about the now decommissioned Chapelhall Power Station.

Locomotive 'Sir James', Devil's Porridge Museum Eastriggs
A fireless locomotive built for use in the large factory complex, HM Factory Gretna, that manufactured cordite explosives 1916-1918. Its boiler was charged each day with boiling water and steam under pressure so that it could work without danger from a firebox or chimney exhaust.
