A Spitfire in a Moffat garden
This full size replica of a Spitfire was commissioned by a local retired GP and it takes pride of place in his front garden. It is certainly a wonderful sight to behold and there is a collection box next to an information sheet with contributions going to the Air Chief Marshall Lord Hugh Dowding Memorial Fund and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. For more information, see http://www.scotsman.com/news/the_ultimate_airfix_kit_a_full_scale_spitfire_at_the_bottom_of_my_garden_1_1029821 For details of Spitfire PT 462 which this model was based on, see this information sheet that was compiled by the owner Image
