Moffat Car Rally
Scottish Rootes Enthusiasts kicked off the Moffat Car Rally in 1998 which has grown to become the biggest classic car event in Scotland. Held this year in the Moffat Showground.
Many visitors from across the country. You might bump into someone you know.

Scottish Rootes Enthusiasts kicked off the Moffat Car Rally in 1998 which has grown to become the biggest classic car event in Scotland. Held this year in the Moffat Showground.
Twenty years on I still wonder who nicked my MkIV Spitfire with the gearstick mounted overdrive. (It has a sticker on the back window which says "Passion wagon (don't laugh, your daughter may be inside!)". If anyone finds the car, or has a change of heart please send it back. If the content is blonde and unused, send it too.

Moffat Showground
Begun in 1998, by the Scottish Rootes Enthusiasts, the Moffat Classic Car Rally is an annual event which attracts classic and vintage cars and motorcycles from all over the world. This year there were over 900 vehicles. The event is held on the Moffat showground and covers two days. On the Saturday 300 of the cars go on a "fun run" out to St. Mary's Loch and back. On the Sunday, besides the main showing of the cars, there is live music, entertainment and children's attractions, finishing with a ceilidh in the evening. Old Parish Church Remains, Moffat
The scant remains of Moffat’s medieval church stand in the old parish graveyard. Beyond is St Andrew’s Parish Church (1884-7) with its central bell tower.
