A lone gable of old Moffat Church
All that remains of the medieval parish church at Moffat in Dumfries and Galloway. The graveyard is one of the most interesting in southern Scotland with so many large stone, nearly all still standing and some from the 16th century. John Loudon Macadam, inventor of the Macadam road system, (tarmacadam) who was born in Ayr, is buried in the old churchyard.

Proudfoot Institute, Moffat
A social club was originally built as a working men’s institute in 1885. In 1893 it was much enlarged and remodelled. During WW1 it was used as a Red Cross Hospital.
