The Bathroom Showroom, Soloman Road
Part of a small factory / warehouse estate between Ilkeston and Cossall Marsh. In the 1890s this was the site of Cossall Collieries' Hewlett Pit.

Nottingham Canal, NG16
With Mill Lane 10 mins walk behind of the photographer, this is a curved stretch of the Erewash Trail that will shortly join and cross Coronation Road (leading to Ilkeston). The footpath is running parallel with the disused Nottingham Canal.

Crossing the Nottingham Canal west of Cossall
At this point, a footpath and a bridleway swap sides of the derelict Nottingham Canal, with the latter gradually heading away from the canal north of here. The causeway in the foreground has replaced the wooden bridge visible a little further on.

The Nottingham Canal near Cossall
Towards the northern boundary of this square the canal is blocked off by an earth bank which links the two footpaths on either side of the water. This allows for a pleasant short circular walk on this section.
