Loscoe Dam
A pleasant spot for birdwatching & fishing, Loscoe Dam can be traced back to the 1300s and was owned by the Zouches of nearby Codnor Castle. The village of Loscoe can be seen in the background. See http://www.chatarea.com/HeanorDistrictLocalHistory.m246233-1 for more information.

Old railway bridge at Loscoe

Furnace Lane - Loscoe
So named as the road to and from the furnaces against Loscoe Dam which were used for iron smelting. The scene also shows the old stone railway embankment.

Furnace Lane

Loscoe Dam
Referred to in the 1330's as Loskoudam and in 1585 covered 24 acres. Today it now covers only 8 acres. This photograph is taken off Furnace Lane facing North.
