The altar - St Michael's Church, Kniveton
St Michael and All Angels Church in Kniveton is an attractive small Grade 1 listed building with Norman porch and nave and fourteenth century chancel. It has an early English font with later inscription. Fragments of early stained glass are to be found in the sanctuary window including the Kniveton family coat of arms. An ancient primitive crucifix of unknown origin is located in the south wall.

St Michael and All Angels Church, Main Street, Kniveton
Grade I listed church dating from the 12th century with 13th century tower. Church was restored in 1663 and 1870 and with a vestry added in 1907. J C Cox advised us in his notes of 1877 that in the Liber Regis and as stated by Dr. Pegge in his Collections the dedication of Kniveton church is to St. John the Baptist.

St. Michael's Church
Dating from the 13th century and seen from the south east. I believe the church straddles the easting with the chancel in this square and the tower in the next.
