Grade I listed church dating from the 12th century with 13th century tower. Church was restored in 1663 and 1870 and with a vestry added in 1907. J C Cox advised us in his notes of 1877 that in the Liber Regis and as stated by Dr. Pegge in his Collections the dedication of Kniveton church is to St. John the Baptist.
