Station Street, Ashbourne, Derbys.
This glimpse of Station Street stretching towards Ashbourne was taken from near to its junction with Station Road. Station Road branches off to the left, adjacent to the photographer's position. The Railway Hotel at 57, Station Street, bearing the "Double Diamond" advert on its gable end was previously owned by the Ind Coope Brewery of Burton-on-Trent. The slogan "A Double Diamond Works Wonders" was used extensively in the 1970s. The building is now a row of houses.

St Oswald's Hospital, Ashbourne, Derbys.
Leisure Way is home to St Oswald's Hospital (in the distance), the Ashbourne Medical Practice (behind the three street lamps on the right) and the Ashbourne Leisure Centre (behind the photographer). To the left of the mini-roundabout Leisure Way joins Clifton Road (the A515 road). The new hospital - opened in September 2010 - replaced the former St Oswald's Hospital in Belle Vue Road, that had once been Ashbourne Union Workhouse.
