Derby Old Cemetery, Pike Monument
Monument of 1854 in Gothic style, inscribed on various panels as follows: Central face inscribed:- "In memory of JOHN GREGORY PIKE/ Born April 6th 1784/ Died September 4th 1854". Left face inscribed:- "Founder of the General Baptist Missionary Society/ Author of "Persuasions to Early Piety" and other valuable works". Right face inscribed:- "Pastor of the church meeting in St Mary's Gate Chapel, forty four years". Listed Grade II.

Derby Old Cemetery, Pegg and Pike Monuments
The complete cemetery is a Listed Grade II Park and Garden which contains 3 individually Listed monuments including the two prominent ones visible here. All three are attributed to Joseph Barlow Robinson (1821-83), who worked as a stone carver for Pugin and Barry on the Palace of Westminster before returning to Derby to set up the Midland Sculptural & Monumental Works
