The cowl on the maltings bears a goat to act as a wind-vane. These buildings are derelict and look ripe for redevelopment. Nearby, the former Trent Brewery has been converted to apartments.

James street at its junction with Uxbridge Street has a couple of houses that are partially bricked up. This small area seems to be rather run down.

Trent Brewery
The former Everards Brewery in Anglesey Road, Burton. Closed 1985 but re-opened as a heritage brewery in the late 1980s. The original steam engine was re-installed and was workable for a time but the heritage operation collapsed amidst rumours of irregularities. The Brewery is now being redeveloped.

Buxton & Thornley horizontal single. Had been removed for preservation down south then bought back, restored and re-installed when the brewery became a heritage attraction. It has again been removed for preservation and it current location is not known to me.
