By the Markeaton Brook
Very little of the brook runs above ground as most of it has been culverted to try to stop flooding in the centre of Derby. Following heavy rain there was a lot of water running in the brook.
All the buildings in the image are student accommodation.

Derby - Brook Street
The Maypole Inn in the shadow of the former Bank's Mill is seen here on Brook Street. The Banks Mill Studios complex is one of The University of Derby's four incubator centres in the city centre. It has a capacity of 37 studios (11,000 sq.ft in total) and targets pre-start and start-up companies with a specific interest in arts, design and/or crafts. In addition to providing general business development services, Banks Mill also offers programmes aimed at developing the sales and marketing skills of its arts-based tenants. The main entrance to this centre is round the corner in Bridge Street.
