Via Devana
Next to the newly restored Ashby Canal at Moira this new Street has sprung up, named Via Devana. It's a great shame that some of its residents don't even know the origins of the name, arising from the time of the initial groundworks when part of the namesake roman road was discovered beneath. This road ran from Chester to Colchester

Located beside the Ashby Canal, by Shortheath Road. The building is intensely uninspiring around the rear, but provides a surprisingly serene prospect beside the reflective surface of the Ashby Canal.

First cut is the deepest
Moira fire station's drill tower had been condemned for a couple of years. These two workmen make the first cuts to take it down. A delicate job, the tower weighing 3.8 tons.
