The Frankenstein steps
This plaque is at the steps in South Baffin St in Dundee, we used to call The Frankenstein steps. The plaque reads: On this site stood The Cottage (mentioned in Frankenstein) visited by Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin 1812 - 1814

Baxter Park Gates
Baxter Park is the only complete park wholly designed by Sir Joseph Paxton in Scotland. It was designed between 1862-63. The railings have been replaced as much of the iron work was taken down during the war.

Frankenstein steps
We used to use the steps at the top of this street on our way to school. We called them the Frankenstein steps, because the place was mentioned in the novel.

Baxter Park, Dundee
The money for the purchase of the land and laying out of Baxter park came from the Baxter family who owned flax and jute mills in the city. Designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, the park was opened by Lord Russell, the Prime Minister, in 1863.
