New Traffic Signals Ahead
In this case the signals have been erected to control the flow of traffic on the Kingsway, which is Dundee's ring road and the main A90 from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. I always think that putting lights on a roundabout indicates a failure of the concept of a roundabout. They might as well have put lights at an ordinary crossroads from the outset. In the background is a new ASDA supermarket.

Balgarthno stone circle
Balgarthno stone circle is a recumbent stone circle, the only one to survive in the area. It probably dates to somewhere between the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age periods (c. 3,300 and 2,500 BC). It's also known as Gourdie Stanes and must have been part of the other Neolithic sites in the area. Was nearly an ASDA car park

Balgarthno Stone Circle (4)
Confusingly, although the information board describes this as a recumbent stone circle, it isn't a Recumbent Stone Circle. It is a circle composed of stones which, having (all but one) fallen over, are all recumbent, rather than a circle of the type found only further north and east, featuring a recumbent setting of recumbent and flankers. See https://canmore.org.uk/site/31955/balgarthno-stone-circle for more information. This is the western half of the circle. Image]
