Dundee House, Dundee
This is now the headquarters of Dundee City Council. It was originally Halley's Hackle Works. This made pins for textile machinery. It then stored ink and paper for newspaper printing before becoming the Council's headquarters. The original building dates from 1911 by Harry Thomson and the conversion work, completed in 2011 was under architects Reiach and Hall. The tower in the distance is on Lindsay Street Mill.

North Lindsay Street Dundee
North Lindsay Street in Dundee used to be a busy place with jute mill and shops but now most of the buildings are derelict. However some of the jute mills in the area have been renovated and now have new functions.

Forgot to see what the denomination was but the church is on Ward Street; it also has a newer hall beside it.

South Ward Road, Dundee
The building on the right at the end of the road with the flag pole and balustraded tower is Ward Mills/Friarfiled House. It is the curved office block built in 1873 for Don Brothers, Buist & Co. Raw jute warehouses still line the north side of South Ward Road but the two spinning mills were demolished in 1964. The building is really pleasing from the other side but I foolishly didn't go the end of the road to get a view. The problem of being on a tight schedule.

Lindsay Street Mill, Dundee
The stone building with the tower is not a religious building but rather a textile mill for jute spinning. The current building dates from 1874 by architects McLaren and Aitken. It replaces an earlier building that burnt down. The mill is of fireproof construction except for timber roof trusses. An engine house is in the yard but I am not sure I could identify it as such. It is now converted to flats, a pub and a night club.
